Obituary of Fred J. Caserta

Fred J. Caserta, age 90, a Stratford resident for over 31 years, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2004. Born in Bridgeport on March 31, 1914, he was a son of the late Giacomo and Incoronata Scinto Caserta.

Blessed with the gift of conversation, Mr. Caserta's wit and sense of humor made him a born salesman who began his sales career as a representative for the Fuller Brush Co. in the 1940s and retired as an agent after 26 years for the Prudential Insurance Company in 1976. He was a past member of the Trinacria M. A. Society.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, Josephine DeRosa Caserta and brother, Carl I. Caserta.

Survivors include two sons, Fred Caserta, Jr. and his wife, Janice of Trumbull and Kenneth Caserta and his wife, Donna of Stratford, a sister, Lonnie Cimino of Stratford, his longtime devoted companion, Eileen Gaudet, a brother-in-law, George DeRosa of Bridgeport, a sister-in-law, Ann Caserta of Stratford, three grandchildren, Fred R. Caserta and his wife, Dawn, Carolyn Caserta and Aimee Pickney and her husband, Jeffrey and a beloved great grandson, Leo Caserta. He also leaves several nephews, their spouses and grand nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 3, 2004 at 8:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 9:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. The St. Theresa Guild of Holy Rosary Church will pray the rosary at 5:30 p.m.
