Joey Bags Joseph Joey Bags Casablanca Jr., age 38, the former owner and operator of The Donut Center of Shelton, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Born on March 9, 1973, he was a son of Sandra DAmicol Casablanca of Shelton and the late Joseph Casablanca Sr. Joe was a member of the St. Joseph High School Class of 1991, the Trinacria M.A. Society, B.P.O.E. Elks and the Highland Golf Club. An avid sports fan, he loved the New York Yankees and Giants and UCONN basketball. His true sports passion was helping the youth in Shelton. He loved coaching football at Shelton High School and always took the time to give one on one time to his players. He also refereed youth basketball games in Shelton and played town recreational softball. Joey Bags enjoyed life to the fullest and could always make a person laugh. He loved his time at the Donut Shop with his friends and family. He was a loving son, brother and uncle who will truly be missed by everyone. In addition to his devoted mother, Sandra, survivors include his brother, Dr. Domenic Casablanca and his wife, Donna, of Oxford, two sisters, Karen Bonitatebus and her husband, Anthony, of Shelton and Angela Casablanca Albert and her husband, Thomas, of Shelton, cherished nieces and nephews, Domenic Jr., Alexa, Kathryn and Anthony Casablanca, Jordyn and Anthony Bonitatebus and Morgan Albert, an uncle, Sebastian Casablanca and his wife Mariann of West Palm Beach, FL, as well as many cousins. The family wishes to publicly thank Drs. Neal Fischbach and Anoop Meraney for their compassionate care and attention to Joeys needs. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be used to establish a memorial fund to aid the Pay to Play Program for Shelton High School athletes.
