Obituary of Josephine Carter

It is with great sadness that the Carter, Ferro, Jordan and Dominquez families announce the death of Josephine Dominquez Carter. She peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2005 in St. Vincent Medical Center with all of her family by her side. Josephine was born and raised in Bridgeport on February 23, 1928 to Felecia Matute and Manuel Dominquez. She was one of their thirteen children. Josephine and her devoted husband, Joe have been married for sixty years, they resided in Trumbull. Josephine was a stay at home mother and wife, where she enjoyed maintaining her home and caring for her family. She also enjoyed going to the Galaxy Diner and to her childrens homes on the holidays. She had a great smile and laugh with an innocence which made her face turn red. Josephine gave everyone great inspiration with her determination and fight to beat her cancer. Everyone admired this little 100 lb. lady who fought until she was too tired, but courageous evermore.

Besides her husband, Joe, she leaves her much loved children, Jo-Ann Ferro and Michael Jordan, both of Stamford and her grandchildren, Michael Ferro and Mariesa Jordan, also of Stamford, her brothers and their wives, Robert and Anna Dominquez and Richard and Lucille Dominquez, her sisters, Felecia Feola, Jennie Bertanza and her husband, Toby, Maria Dominquez and Rose Siwy, as well as many nieces and nephews. Josephine is pre-deceased by her brothers, Manuel, Jr., Henry, Anthony and Joseph Dominquez and her sisters, Inez Carter and Margurite Dominquez and her beloved pet, Queenie.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, July 25, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-7 p.m.
