Obituary of Al Cannizzaro

Stratford Resident CANNIZZARO Alphonso Al Cannizzaro, age 76, of Stratford, an accountant for United Wholesale Florist, died on Monday, March 7, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Derby, CT on June 30, 1934, he was the son of the late Philip and Mollie Cannizzaro and was a U.S. Army veteran. Al was previously employed at the Edwards Corporation and Glorias of Milford. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he will be dearly missed. He enjoyed swimming in the family pool and watching all sporting events. Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Pearl Thommen Cannizzaro, two daughters, Debi Mauro and her husband Frank of Norwalk and Trish Cannizzaro and her husband Jim DiPentima of Bridgewater, a son, Philip J. Cannizzaro and his wife Lisa of New Milford, two sisters, MaryAnn Beecher and her husband Robert of Ansonia and Gloria Mastrone and her husband Andrew of Trumbull, four grandchildren, Marissa M. Mauro, Nicole M. Cannizzaro, Lauren J. Cannizzaro and James P. Cannizzaro, two great grandchildren, Ameeya Hwang and Jaylynn Hopkins, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ida Gloria and Angie Rosa and a brother, Carmen Cannizzaro. Funeral Information Friends may call on Sunday, March 13th from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniel's Farm Rd., Trumbull. .
