Obituary of Clothilde Canfield

Easton Resident Clothilde Hopfenzitz Canfield, age 98, of Easton, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010 in Cambridge Manor. Born in Friedrichshafen, Germany on July 14, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Julius and Francesca Hopfenzitz. She moved to New Jersey in 1953 where she lived for almost 50 years, before moving to Connecticut ten years ago. She was a parishioner of Notre Dame Church of Easton and enjoyed sharing stories with everyone she met. She was a gentle, caring woman and she will be missed greatly by her family and everyone who knew her. She touched many throughout her long and memorable life. Clothilde is survived by her daughter, Irma Muzsi of Easton and son John Canfield of Center Sandwich, NH, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff at Cambridge Manor for the loving care they gave for the last few years. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in Notre Dame of Easton Church, 640 Morehouse Rd., Easton on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours.
