Obituary of John J. Candelora

Former Owner of Candelora's Appliances John J. Candelora, age 89, of Trumbull, a retired plumbing and heating contractor and the former owner of Candeloras Appliances in Stratford for over 50 years, died on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 in the Jewish Home for the Elderly. Born in Stratford on April 23, 1916, he was a son of the late Louis and Rose Magolino Candelora. Mr. Candelora enjoyed working in his yard and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Theresa Oneta Candelora, two daughters, Barbara Hilinski and her husband, Walter and Diane Polacik and her husband, Edward, all of Trumbull, two sisters, Mary Russo of Stratford and Josephine Ettore of Trumbull, six grandchildren, David Hilinski and his wife, Allison, Michael Hilinski and his wife, Jennifer, Marc Hilinski and his wife, Rana, Joseph Polacik, Kristin Van Beever and her husband, Baird and John Polacik and four great grandchildren, Julia, Brenden, Risa and Gregory. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Philomena Gimagleano and a brother, Patrick Candelora. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 19, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-6 p.m.
