Obituary of Armando R. Camara

Armando R. Camara, age 71, of Shelton and formerly of Trumbull, beloved husband of Maria Celina Jardim Camara, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family, after battling cancer for many years. Born on September 24, 1941 in Penha, Sao Paulo, Brazil, he was a son of the late Joao Camara and Julia Ascencao Fernandes Camara. Armando was a retired iron worker with over 40 years of service. He worked with the former Leake & Nelson Co. and Chapin & Bangs Steel. He was an avid soccer fan who enjoyed watching Palmeiras FC and he was also a member of Club Vasco da Gama where he also played soccer for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling and sightseeing. Armando cherished his grandchildren, Luke and Julianna Camara, who were the joy of his life. In addition to his loving and dedicated wife of 41 years, Maria Celina, survivors include his son, Armando R. Camara Jr. and his wife Meagan of Naugatuck, his daughter, Suzanne Camara of Jupiter, FL, two sisters, Terezinha DaCosta and her husband Jose and Irene Andre and her husband Manuel, his sister-in-law, Mecia Camara, all of Trumbull, a brother in law and sister in law Augusto and Matilde Cunha of Bridgeport, and many nieces and nephews. He was recently predeceased by his brother, Arnaldo Camara. The family would like to thank Dr. Folman and his dedicated staff and all the caregivers at Bridgeport Hospital and Vitas Hospice Care. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 16 at 10:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Road, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd. Trumbull.
