Obituary of Peter Calandro

Owner and Operator of Trumbull Home Builders and Calandro Fuel Peter Calandro, Jr., age 77, of Trumbull, the retired owner and operator of Trumbull Home Builders and Calandro Fuel Co., died on Monday, February 5, 2007 at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by his family holding his hands. Born in Bridgeport on April 2, 1929, he was a son of the late Peter and Clementine DeFeo Calandro. A Trumbull resident for 53 years, he built many homes in Fairfield County. He was a very artistic man who enjoyed opera, classical music and reading. Mr. Calandro loved trees, the outdoors and had a passion for gardening. He took great pride in his flowers and vegetables and was a kind, generous man who was very devoted to his family and will be sadly missed. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Ralph Calandro and a sister, Mary Dragone. Survivors include his loving wife, Josephine Vicens Calandro, three sons, David P. Calandro and his wife, Mary of Southbury, Brian P. Calandro of Trumbull and Alan P. Calandro and his wife, Roseann of Burlington, a daughter, Amy Calandro and her husband, Kevin Bitjeman of Richmond, VA, eleven grandchildren, David, Jr., Michael, Elissa, Catherine, Joseph, Caroline, Laura, Jared, Ian, Sophie and Garret. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull.
