Obituary of Carmela Ann Gibilaro

Carmela "Camille" Ann Adanuncio Gibilaro, age 93, of Bridgeport, loving wife of the late Salvatore Gibilaro, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011 in St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 3, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Michele and Mariantonia Fortunado Adanuncio. She was a graduate of Girls Commercial 4-year H.S. in Brooklyn, NY and went on to work for many years as a typist in New York. She retired as a payroll clerk and typist at Remington Shaver of Bridgeport in charge of bonds. Carmela was a member of the Legion of Mary in Brooklyn, the Holy Rosary Confraternity and the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ladies Guild and the choir at St. Patricks Church of Bridgeport. She loved to cook and bake for her family. She made all feel welcome and everyone loved to hear say God Bless You.

Survivors include her four children, Claudette Pilotti and her husband Anthony of Bridgeport, Noel Gibilaro and his wife Deborah of North Branford, Marie Kamorowski and her husband John C. of Bridgeport and Gregory Gibilaro and his wife Helen of MA, eight grandchildren, David, Wendy, Ariel and Cheyenne Gibilaro, Dawn and Lisa Pilotti, John Kamorowski, Jessica Kamorowski Rio and her husband Silvino and two great grandchildren for whom she was Nonnina, John Anthony Pilotti-DAquino and Michael Rio as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends. She was predeceased by six sisters and two brothers. 

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M.
