Obituary of Robert C. Wheway

Resident of Stratford Robert Clifford Wheway, age 75, of Stratford, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on September 10, 1934 to the late Albert and Anna (Baker) Wheway. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Emma Ann (Baldino) Wheway. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Marika Wheway of Milford; grandson Robert of Milford and fiance Kara Sweeney; grandson, Andreanos of Milford, sisters, June Stec of Seymour and Patricia Wheway of Wolcott; in-laws, Joan Wheway, Pat Wheway, Robert and Mary Benko, Tony and Debbie Tadduni, Charles and Antonetta Caminiti, Jack and Lucille Testani, Silvio and Margie Nicolia, Grace Giaquinto and partner Louis Faugno, Dennis and Kathy Sciarrino and Anthony and Veronica Baldino; and mother-in-law, Antoinette Baldino. He was a beloved uncle and survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Caroline Weber; brothers, Philo, Albert, Richard, Clifford, James and Earl Wheway and sister-in-law, Sandra Conger. Robert retired in 1999 after 30 years of service as a QA supervisor from Owens-Illinois in Bridgeport. He was an avid golfer, served in National Guard and enjoyed working outdoors and spending time with his family. He also endured many, many years as a Red Sox fan. The Cowboys were much kinder to him. His wisdom, compassion and character will be remembered always. His family would like to thank Dr. Sandhya Dhanjal for the special care she gave to him and his sister-in-law, Margie Nicolia who helped to keep him comfortable during his final days. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
