Obituary of Andre J. Walsh

Shelton Resident WALSH Andre J. Walsh, age 79, of Shelton, a retired scientific glass blower specialist for Perkin Elmer of Norwalk for 38 years, died peacefully on his birthday, Wednesday, September 5, 2007 in Danbury Health Care Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY on September 5, 1928, he was a son of the late Richard and Simone Vennat Walsh. He was raised in Vineland, NJ and was a member of the Class of 1947 at Sacred Heart High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Walsh was a member of the choir and the St. Joseph Mens Club at St. Lawrence Church, and a member of the American Scientific Glass Blowers Society. While he resided in Newark, Delaware, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former president of the Civic Association. He was a true sports enthusiast. Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Pearl Mongeluzzo Walsh, three loving children, Jeffrey Walsh and his wife Mary of Hopkinton MA, Kathleen Coxe and her husband David of Vienna, VA and Carol Haines and her husband Fred of Stratford, two brothers, John Walsh and his wife Ann of Sewell, NJ and Rev. Paul Walsh, director of the St. Anthonys Childrens Home, Kingston, Jamaica. He is also survived by five cherished grandchildren, Aimee Morgan, Eileen and Kara Coxe and Alison and Kathryn Walsh, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
