Obituary of David L. Wade

Pioneer of St. Joseph Girls Soccer Program David L. Wade, age 57, previously of Trumbull, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at home with his family. Son of Donald and Dorothy Miller Wade of Fairfield, he was born August 11, 1951 in Bridgeport. In addition to his beloved wife of 37 years Lynn Bodnar Wade, he is remembered by his three children, Scott Wade and his wife, Sarah of Greenwich, Kristy Wade Gabriel and her husband, Chris of Ithaca, NY, and Jennifer Wade Scofield and her husband, Mike of Stratford and is cherished by his grandchildren, Katherine Wade and Mason Gabriel. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Marybeth Kekac and her husband, Steven of Trumbull, and his brother Tom Wade of Dallas, TX; two sisters-in-law, Ann Wicke and her husband, Ronald of Trumbull, and Patricia Sombati and her husband, Jon of Trumbull; two brothers-in-law, Paul Bodnar and his wife, Pat of Stratford, and Tom Bodnar and his wife, Deborah of Watertown; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and beloved sister Deborah Laneville. In 2004 he had retired from Wades Dairy, the family business started in 1893 by his Great Grandfather Frank Henry Wade. Dave graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1969 and remained heavily involved in the St. Joseph Community. He started the St. Joseph girls soccer program in 1990 and this November he celebrated their first FCIAC title as well as their second consecutive Class M State Championship; he was also an active member of the St. Joseph Alumni Association. Dave was heavily involved in the local community, serving as president of the Pinewood Lake Association for three years, coaching a Trumbull Little League team for six years, and coaching in the Trumbull United Soccer Program for six years. His real passions were working on cars, traveling with the NorEasters GMC RV club, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying life. Many thanks to the radiation team at St. Vincents Medical Center, the Seventh Floor Nurses, all of Daves close friends in transportation that made his hospital stays feel like home, and to all of the doctors who cared for him over the last two years. Funeral Information Calling hours will be held Friday November 28, 2008 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull, CT.
