Obituary of Raymond C. Vertucci

Raymond C. Vertucci, age 77, of Bridgeport, died peacefully on Friday June 24, 2011 surrounded by his loving family in Gaylord Hospital, Wallingford. Born in Bridgeport on October 4, 1933, he was a son of the late Nicholas Sr. and Elizabeth Tamas Vertucci. Ray was a retired driver for the Law Office of Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder. He attended Warren Harding High School and played bass and sang in local bands for many years, he was also an avid golfer and die hard Yankee fan. Rays true love and passion was creating his Christmas Village. He truly loved the Christmas season and people couldnt wait to see his village every year. Ray was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed.

He was predeceased by a daughter Janice DeAndrea, a grandson Dan Justo, sister, Caroline Vertucci and sister-in-law Dolores Vertucci.

Survivors include a daughter Joyce Russ of Milford, three cherished grandchildren, Marissa Finn, Adam Gilmore and Joseph DeAndrea, five great grandchildren, Grady, Liam, Cassondra, Sean and Mia, a brother Nicholas Vertucci Jr. of Trumbull, a sister, Virginia Nyhoff and her husband Rudolph of Delaware, cousin William Riccio, as well as several additional cousins and many nieces and nephews. 

A prayer service will take place on Tuesday June 28, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
