Obituary of Michael J. Verrilli

Lifetime Fairfield Resident Michael J. Verrilli, of Fairfield, died suddenly on his 42nd birthday, September 17, 2009. He was born in Bridgeport and was a lifelong Fairfield resident. He is survived by his father and mother, Anthony Verrilli and Marian DelBuono Verrilli of Fairfield and his daughter Emily Verrilli of Fredericksburg, VA. He was the brother of Linda Rainieri and her husband Richard of Shelton, Donna Piccolo and her husband Anthony of Trumbull and Anthony J. Verrilli of Hudson, New Hampshire, companion of Lisa Steinmetz of Monroe. He leaves behind aunts and uncles, Robert and Irene DelBuono Sr., Joseph and Kathleen DelBuono, Nora Vayser all of Fairfield and Gloria Gori of Hampton VA, as well as nieces and nephews and cousins. Michael had a special talent for composing and playing music. He was a member of several bands that played both locally and nationally. He rose to fame as Jody Reese playing with the band Shanghai. Their services lead to an international recording contract. After his music career, Michael worked in several local businesses as a chef. He was also the former proprietor of Tonys Fruit Stand in Bridgeport. Michael was a caring and sensitive person. Throughout his life his music was his muse. He will be missed by his family and friends. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 835 Brookside Dr., Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
