Obituary of Frances Ann Turechek

Bridgeport Resident Frances Ann Wondell Turechek, age 81, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Peter J. Turechek, died on Friday, December 23, 2011 in her home. Born in Schenectady, NY on December 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Cecelia Palen Wendolowski. Frances was a secretary for the City of Bridgeport Board of Education with 24 years of service before retiring in 1989. An avid cook, she always enjoyed cooking for the family because it would bring everyone together and make lasting memories. She was a member of the Starlets which was a group of friends who attended grammar school and high school together and never lost touch. Frances also loved to garden and was especially talented at cultivating African Violets. In addition to her husband Peter, survivors include three sons, David P. Turechek and his wife Sherry of Shelton, Kenneth C. Turechek of Bridgeport and Paul S. Turechek of Stratford, seven grandchildren; Luke J. Turechek of Belmont, MA, Bonnie M. Turechek of Las Vegas, NV, Zachary D. Turechek of New York City, Paul S. Turechek Jr., and his wife Nicole of East Haven, Cyrilla L. Turechek of West Haven, Tanya M. Potts of Fort Myers, FL and Holly Waligora and her husband Eric of Naples, FL, nine great grandchildren, Bryanah, Christopher, Gunner, Grace, Blake, Jack, Hope, Brook and Nicholas, sisters-in-law, Kathy Wondell of Alabama and Mary Broadhurst of Stratford, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Charles Wondell. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Charles Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
