Obituary of Anthony A. Truini

Resident of Trumbull Anthony Tony Truini, a resident of Trumbull for over 52 years, passed away peacefully at his home on December 15, 2009 with his loving family by his side. He was married for 54 years to the love of his life Lucille (DeMase) Truini. Tony was born in The Bronx, New York on November 27, 1930 to Paul and Emma (Peterrio) Truini. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. His dedication and loyalty to corps and country was undying. Once a marine, he was always a marine. Semper Fi. Tony retired as Executive Assistant to the President of the United Food and Commercial Workers, Local 371, AFL-CIO. He was a proud union member for over 30 years and ever a staunch supporter of labor. Upon his retirement in 1993, he served on the Connecticut State Board of Mediation and Arbitration. He also served two terms as an elected member of the Board of Finance for the Town of Trumbull. Poppy adored his grandchildren who often visited he and Lucille in Boynton Beach, Florida, where they wintered for the last 20 years. Along with his beloved wife, he is survived by his children, William Truini of Monroe, Barbara Truini of Trumbull, Brad Truini and his wife Deborah of Wrentham, Massachusetts, Brian Truini and his wife, Danielle of Trumbull, grandchildren, Thomas, Ashley, Jack, Tiffany, Anthony, Dana, Ava, and newest arrival baby Alexa Lucille. Tony is also survived by his sister Yolanda Patti and husband Joseph, brother Paul and his wife Nancy, many devoted nieces, nephews and cousins and close friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, his brother Joseph and sister Ann. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment with military honors will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds. Friends may call on Friday from 3-8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
