Obituary of Maria Saccone Torreso

Bridgeport Resident Maria Saccone Torreso, age 89, of Bridgeport, a retired seamstress for the Levine Coat Co., died on Thursday, October 15, 2009 in the Jewish Home for the Elderly. Born in Santa Maria CV, Province of Caserta, Italy on November 15, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Genaro and Giovanna Plumitalo Torreso. Mrs. Torreso came to the United States from Italy in 1947. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was pre-deceased by her husband Salvatore Torreso and three brothers. Survivors include her daughter Amy Torreso of Bridgeport and her devoted friend Cynthia Mahon. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kenneth Fine and the staff of the Jewish Home for the Elderly for their devoted care. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
