Obituary of Martha Brake

Resident of Pineville, North Carolina Martha Le Clair Brake, Marti, 88, of Pineville, NC, a retired sales associate for D. M. Reads/Jordan Marsh, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 19, 2007. She was born on November 11, 1918 in Athens, GA, the daughter of the late Summie and Irene Poss, and beloved wife to the late Roger Brake, Sr. Marti loved her flowers and working in the garden, but most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was so proud of them all! She was loved and will be dearly missed by her family. Survivors include her children, Roger Brake, Jr. and wife, Eleanor, of Trumbull, Irene Tippett and husband, Jack, of Monroe, Edwin Brake of San Francisco, CA, Debi Ward and husband, Richard, of Charlotte, NC and Tina Koenig and husband, Fred, of Huntington; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; brother Edwin Poss of Clayton, GA.; close friend, Earl Berrey of Pineville, NC; and her friends at the Dorchester in Pineville. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Summie Poss, Jr. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Calvary Free Evangelical Church, 498 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
