Obituary of Anna Stoccatore

Anna Romany Stoccatore, age 95, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 26, 1915 in Pearl River, NY, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Anna Plavka Romany. As a child in Monroe, she attended school and played the organ at the Congregational Church. Anna studied hairdressing in New York City and Bridgeport where she later taught and practiced. She resided in Bridgeport for many years before returning to Monroe. She worked with her husband who owned Success Department Store in Stratford and later returned to hairdressing at Reads, Jordan Marsh, Macys and Regis Salons in Trumbull. After her retirement she continued to see private clients at their homes through 2006. Anna had a love for her family, animals and community services. She was very active at Salem Lutheran Church, the Trumbull Grange and the Monroe Historical Society. She was honored for her many years of active service in the Grange by Gov. Jodi Rell and Atty. General Richard Blumenthal. She was predeceased by her husband Albert J. Stoccatore, a son Benjamin P. Stoccatore, a brother, Walter Romany and a sister Olga Anzalone. Survivors include her loving son Albert J. Stoccatore, II and his wife Terry of Monroe, four granddaughters, Ann-Marie Figlar and her husband Jon of Stratford, Heather Rossi and her husband Vince of Milford, Jennifer Ferrara and her husband Todd of Stratford and Elise Smith and her husband Leon of Monroe and three great grandchildren, Tyler Ferrara, Justin Gendron, and Sofia Figlar. The family would like to express their gratitude to Maefair Health Care Center, St. Vincents Medical Center and Vitas Hospice. Funeral Information Private family funeral services were conducted by the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
