Obituary of Mary Seferi

Mary Ziu Seferi, age 84, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Peter L. Seferi, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at her home. Born in Southbridge, MA on September 27, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Olimbia Adam Ziu. She graduated from the Mary Wells High School and Clark University in Massachusetts where she received her teaching degree. Mary taught in the Massachusetts and the Fairfield School Systems for many years. She had a lifelong interest in languages and the origin of words. She was very proud to have won a spelling bee at the age of 12 and had also skipped the fourth grade. She was a member of the St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church for over 50 years and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include three children, Catherine Seferi and her husband Dennis Koeller of Richmond, CA, Richard M. Seferi of Trumbull and Gregory Seferi and his wife Laurie of Half Moon Bay, CA, two brothers, Themistocli Ziu and his wife Katherine of Trumbull and Mihail Ziu and his wife Theodora of Virginia, an aunt Domnica Ziu of Worcester, MA and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly in St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Rd., Easton. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Trisiagion Service will be held at 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
