Obituary of Joan K. Schlemmer

June 07, 2009 Bridgeport Resident Joan Platt Schlemmer, of Bridgeport, died on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mary Taro Platt, and was a Bridgeport resident over 45 years. Mrs Schlemmer had been employed at St. Vincent Medical Center and formerly operated Joans Day Care. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Wilfred (Bill) Schlemmer. Survivors include her children, Paul Schlemmer of Bridgeport, two daughters, Diane Bernardi and her husband Stephen of Framingham, MA and Karen Perachio and her husband John of Monroe, a brother, Lester Platt Jr. and his wife Judith of Norwalk, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Friends may call on Monday (Today) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Augustine Cathedral, 359 Washington Ave., Bridgeport on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
