Obituary of Lorren B. Salerno

Lorren Bedner Salerno, 51, of Bethany, devoted wife and loving mother, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010. She married Carl Salerno, a.k.a. Mr. Wonderful, September 1990. They have two children, Alida Josephine, 18, who attends Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and Andrew Carl, 13, a student at The Foote School, New Haven. Born May 24, 1959, the daughter of Aldryth Sawin Bedner and the late Norman W. Bedner of Milford. Lorren is survived by her mother-in-law, Josephine Salerno, widow of Vito, and their family of Stratford; her siblings: Scott of Milford, Lloyd and his wife Coleen, of Gresham, OR, Donna Sierer and her husband Walter, of Bridgeport and Cheryll Evans and her husband, David, of Orange, as well as several close nieces, nephews and cousins. Lorren graduated from Foran High School, was a cheerleader and a member of the National Honor Society. An alumna of Assumption College, Worchester, MA having graduated summa cum laude with a degree in psychology, she was a student teacher and a Sunday school teacher at the First Congregational Church in Milford. She continued her education at the University of Bridgeport and was employed by Park City Hospital in the psychiatric unit. Lorren traveled extensively, loved fine jewelry and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and beadwork. She made her friends and family many special outfits, sweaters, quilts, afghans and wedding dresses. An adventurous woman, she lived life to the fullest and encourages her children to do the same. Funeral Information There will be no calling hours, however within a month a celebration of Lorrens life will take place for all to attend. This fund will benefit students of the Connecticut Dance Conservatory in Stratford, CT.
