Obituary of Angelo Russo

U. S. Army Veteran of World War II Angelo Russo, age 87, of Monroe, husband of the late Violet Bonitatibus Russo, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 1, 2008. Born in Bridgeport on September 19, 1920, he was a son of the late Angelo Sr. and Jennie Ivino Russo. Mr. Russo was a retired contractor and owner and operator of the former A & D Construction. He served in U.S. Army being inducted at the age of 23 and was trained to be a truck driver in Belgium and France. He was next sent to Germany with the 4th Army, crossing the Rhein River and fought in the Battle of the Bulge which earned him the five stars to be discharged. A dedicated father and grandfather, he cherished and enjoyed the times he spent with his family, especially when he was cooking for them. He also enjoyed watching golf on television. Survivors include his two loving daughters, Jacqueline Russo and Angela Caron and her husband Christopher, all of Monroe; his cherished grandsons, Joseph and David Caron and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe.
