Obituary of John A. Roma

Loving Grandfather and Uncle John A. Roma, age 88, of Waterbury and formerly of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Irene Kryskiewicz Roma, died peacefully on Thursday March 10, 2011 in his home with his devoted granddaughter by his side. Born in Bridgeport on August 25, 1922, he was a son of the late John and Lucia Martino Roma. John was a retired employee for the City of Bridgeport Public Works Department and was a diehard Yankee Fan and a lover of the lottery. John was a loving grandfather and uncle who will be deeply missed. He was predeceased by his daughter, Irene Coyle, three sisters; Liz, Josie and Edie Roma, five brothers; Daniel, Teddy, Ruby, Mike and Fred Roma, and a brother in law, John Vernon. Survivors include his loving and devoted granddaughter Stephanie Coyle Botelle and her husband Larry of Waterbury, a sister in law, Elizabeth Vernon of Monroe, a niece, Lisa Roberto of Monroe, as well as several additional nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and his little buddy, Rocky. He is also survived by his dear family friends the Botelle and Petta families. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday March 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
