Obituary of Candida Eloise Rivera

June 01, 2007 Bridgeport Resident Candida Eloise Rivera, of Bridgeport, a retired expense payable manager for Howlands-Steinbach Central Accounting Office, Bridgeport, died on Friday, June 1, 2007 in St. Josephs Manor, Trumbull. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Domingo and Petra Vazquez Rivera, and was a Bridgeport resident over 57 years. She was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and especially Paul ONeill. She also enjoyed traveling and dancing and was affectionately known by her family as Titi. Survivors include her siblings, Rose Zsampar of West Haven, Petra Collazo of Bridgeport, Maria Sara Madar and Luis A. Rivera, both of Fairfield and Gloria Hilbert of Virginia, and her first niece Miriam Munnelly of San Diego, CA. Eloise had 18 nieces and nephews, 37 great nieces and nephews and 17 great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Luz Castro of Virginia, and Carmen Rivera of Bridgeport. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph Manor whose care she was truly blessed to be in this past year. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 9 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
