Obituary of Eugene John Rick

Former Owner and Operator of C&R Cleaners and Oronoque Cleaners Eugene John Rick (Gino), age 79, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Mary Nassetta Rick, entered into eternal rest on April 24, 2006 with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 26, 1926 in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Tina Dorfee Rick and Nicholas Rick. Gino was a U. S. Navy veteran and a former owner and operator of C&R Cleaners in Milford and Oronoque Cleaners in Stratford. Gino touched many hearts by his giving heart. He loved life and was a wonderful father who devoted his life to his four children who will miss him deeply. His grandchildren also held a very special place in his heart. He also loved his animal friends and enjoyed time spent with his family pets. He will be treasured for his generous spirit and his great sense of humor, as he could find humor in just about everything. Even during his last days, his great wit would bring a smile to everyones face. In addition to his devoted wife of 53 years, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah Rick Selski of Trumbull and her husband, William Selski; Cathy Esposito of Trumbull and her husband, Anthony Esposito; two sons, William Rick of Milford and his wife, Marilyn Rick; Kenneth Rick of Trumbull and his wife, Marlene Rick; four cherished grandchildren, Ariana Rick, Gina Esposito, Kellie Rick and Billy Rick. In addition, he leaves three precious sisters, Vivian Maresco of Bridgeport; Doris Zielinski of Trumbull; and Lillian Piccirillo of Scottsdale, Arizona; a very special niece, Barbara Maher of Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was pre-deceased by three brothers; Vincent Richetti, Leonard Rick and Albert Rick; and his little angel grandchild, Natalia Rick. The family would like to thank Dr. Taubin and his staff for their compassionate care during a very difficult time. The family would also like to thank the staff of Hospice at Home and our caring nurse Barbara Fagnani who was a great source of support and comfort. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with full military honors will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
