Obituary of Madeline R. Bonito

Madeline (Lena) R. Del Percio Bonito, age 89, of Stratford, died on Monday, March 28, 2005 in Carolton Chronic Convalescent Hospital, Fairfield. Born in Bridgeport on December 29, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Donato and Maria Trioni Del Percio and a resident of Stratford for over 48 years. Mrs. Bonito was a retired seamstress for Venus Lingerie, Paul Adams Lingerie and North Sails Co. where she proudly worked on sails for the Americas Cup winning yachts, the Intrepid and the Courageous. She was a member of the St. Theresa Guild, the Holy Rosary Seniors, she volunteered at the St. Anthony Festival, was also a member of the Baldwin Center and St. James Church Seniors and the Council of Catholic Women.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Frank Bonito, brothers and sisters, Matthew, Irene, Fred, Daniel T. and Rachel Del Percio and a nephew, Dennis Ward.

Survivors include two sisters, Grace Ward of Stratford and Raffaella Vetrosky of Trumbull, nieces and nephews, Ann Marie Swindon, Madeline Schmitt, Daniel Ward, Linda Cronin, Allen Vetrosky, Daniel Del Percio, Diana Mackey, Maria Ober, Fred Del Percio, Paula Neal, Fred Neal and Richard Arsenault, many grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 1, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. The St. Theresa Guild of Holy Rosary Church will pray the rosary at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
