Obituary of Nicolo Raitano

Bridgeport Resident Nicolo Raitano, age 86, of Bridgeport, died peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2007 at St. Marys Hospital, Waterbury. Born in Gela, Province of Caltanisetta, Sicily, Italy on August 21, 1921, he was a son of the late Rocco and Nunzia Di Bartelo Raitano. He was a retired employee of Handy & Harman with 20 years of service and was also a member of the Italian Guarda di Finanza di Mare. Nicolo took great pride in the fact that he was dedicated to the love and care of his family and worked very hard to make sure all of his children had a good education. He enjoyed cooking and also watching soccer and baseball. He was pre-deceased by his wife Pearl Livrani Raitano and two brothers, Vanni and Rosario Raitano. Survivors include his three loving daughters, Maureen Rossi and her husband Cataldo of Huntersville NC, NancyAnn Kratzer and Wolfgang Boeck of Germany and Frances Antunes and Robert Mancini of Bridgeport, a brother Angelo Raitano, three sisters, Anna Caccamo, Nunzia and Angelina Raitano all of Gela, Sicily, four cherished grandchildren, Tina Marie and Carlo Rossi, Christopher Michael Kratzer with Valentina Guckenheimer, and his special angel Nicole Antunes, two great grandchildren, Stefanie and Erikah as well as several nieces and nephews and many family members in Sicily. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine Chapel, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.
