Obituary of Ann M. Avallon

Ann Epifano Avallon, age 92, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Edward A. Avallon, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, March 12, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Castiglione, Italy on June 16, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John Sr. and Grace Martino Epifano. A graduate of Central High School, she later worked for Peoples Bank and the former D. M. Reads of Bridgeport. She was past president of the Womens Confraternity at St. Patricks Church. A dedicated mother, who was very family oriented, she enjoyed painting, art and sewing and found great enjoyment in spending time with her family and friends at her summer beach house in Lordship. Survivors include three sons, Edward J. Avallon and his wife Mary Lou of Piscataway, NJ, Richard T. Avallon and his wife Sharon of Newtown and Philip S. Avallon and his wife Karen of Fairfield, nine grandchildren, Jennifer Zemaitis and her husband James, Edward Avallon and his wife Lisa, Christopher, Alyssa, Aaron, Nelsa, Michael, David and Elise Avallon, three great grandchildren, Edward Avallon, Gracie-Min Avallon and Vivien Zemaitis, two brothers, James Epifano of Trumbull and Robert Epifano of New Jersey, two sisters, Julia Altieri and her husband Anthony of North Carolina and Grace Puskar of Trumbull as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by a sister, Mary DiNapoli and two brothers, John Epifano Jr. and Camille John Epifano. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will take place on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. There will be no calling hours and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
