Obituary of Loretta C. Bonazzo

Loretta Puglio Bonazzo, age 93, of Stratford, died on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in the Jewish Home for the Elderly. Born in Bridgeport on April 25, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Gatto Puglio. She was pre-deceased by her husband Louis R. Bonazzo, siblings Patsy Puglio, Grace Welch, Evelyn Palmer and a son-in-law James Dobbs. She was a great cook, a devoted homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Loretta enjoyed playing cards and especially singing at family events and is fondly remembered by family and friends as The Last of the Red Hot Mamas.

Survivors include her devoted children, two sons, Louis Bonazzo and his wife Carol of Shelton; Robert Bonazzo and his wife Lisa of Trumbull, a daughter, Annette Dobbs of Stratford, two sisters, Antoinette Petretti of Trumbull and Louise Formichella of Monroe, eight loving grandchildren, Louis Bonazzo Jr., Amy Potvin and her husband Joseph, Jennifer DiVincenzo and her husband Dave, Jim Dobbs and his wife Elizabeth, Lisa Jackson and her husband Erik, David Dobbs and his wife Meghan, Robbie Bonazzo and Christopher Bonazzo, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at The Jewish Home and Hospice for the comforting care provided. 

Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
