Obituary of Stanley Petrashka

Resident of Stratford Stanley Petrashka, age 87, of Stratford, beloved husband of 52 years to the late Sandy Oliva Petrashka, died on Thursday, October 16, 2008 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on June 1, 1921, he was a son of the late Anthony and Julia Alesevich Petrashka and was a long time resident of Bridgeport before moving to Stratford. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Petrashka was a tool setter with Remington Arms of Bridgeport for over 40 years before his retirement. He was a member of the YMCA Industrial Seniors, the St. John Nepomucene Seniors, the Our Lady of Good Counsel Seniors, a communicant and usher of Holy Rosary Church for many years and a member of the Dupont Retirees Quarter Century Club. He was an avid football fan and sports enthusiast and a loving father, grandfather and a gentle man to all. Survivors include a son, Anthony Petrashka and his wife Annette of Stratford, two daughters, Julianne Christenson and her husband Kevin of Fort Wayne Indiana and Dianne Fuller and her husband Daniel of Southbury, brother-in-law, Frank Oliva, sister-in-law, Tina DeCecco, seven grandchildren, Kevin Christenson and his wife Karyn, Kimberly Owen and her husband Greg, Anthony Petrashka Jr. and his wife Lisa, Matthew Petrashka and Shavonne, Lauren Petrashka, Dana Fuller and Erin Fuller, four great grandchildren, Colin, Katelyn, Aidan and Alyssa as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael Petrashka and a sister, Anna Terasovich. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
