Obituary of Joan C. Parker

Loving Wife, Devoted Mother and Enthusiastic Educator Joan C. Parker, age 59, of Easton, a loving wife, devoted mother and enthusiastic educator who saw every person in the light of his highest potential, passed into eternal rest Monday, November 15, 2010 from multiple myeloma. Joan was born November 21, 1950 in New York City to the late Aloysius and Honora Sullivan Colligan. She was the wife, best friend, sweetheart of Sigma Chi and voice of reason for 36 years to Jeffrey F. Parker. Joan was the role model and mother of Elizabeth and Megan. She also leaves behind her sister, Noreen Conroy, her brother Al Colligan and six nieces. Joan was a dedicated Easton educator as Principal of Helen Keller Middle School, and prior as Director of Special Services and a special education teacher. Joan firmly believed in the responsibility of educators to ensure students were critical thinkers, problem solvers and leaders. Most recently she so proudly opened the Project Lead the Way initiative with the support of the Easton Learning Foundation. The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. Helen Keller. May she rest in peace.
