Obituary of Sarah Ostrosky

Lifelong Resident of Bridgeport Sarah (Sally) Ostrosky, age 86, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 4, 2010 in St. Vincents Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on July 27, 1924 to Paul and Anna Rivnyak, Sarah was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Raymond E. Ostrosky, Sr., a brother Paul Rivnyak of Florida and a sister Irene Gallant of Beacon Falls. She enjoyed being a devoted homemaker and past employee of Kays Department Store and Fashion Bug. Sally was a devout Catholic and active parishioner of St. Andrews Church in Bridgeport. She enjoyed playing bingo and sharing time with many friends and family members. Survivors include loving children, Raymond Jr. and his wife Barbara of Shelton and Beverley Ostrosky of Hamden, grandchildren, Jason, Ryan and Kerri Ostrosky; Christopher and Salvatore Capodicci and great grandchildren, Taylor, Cole and Savana Ostrosky, along with her special devoted niece, Sharon Bosley of Beacon Falls, and loving nieces, Irene Gillette of Felton, DE and Ann Gallant of Danielson. Sarah also leaves many additional nieces, nephews and cousins to cherish her memory. The family would like to express their thanks to the 6th floor nursing staff for the care that Sarah received during her stay at St. Vincents. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrews Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
