Obituary of Angela Blancato

Angela Streppone Blancato, age 88, of Toms River, NJ, beloved wife of the late Santo Blancato, passed away on Wednesday, May 09, 2012 at the Maefair Health Care Center, with her loving family by her side. Born in Bronx, NY on September 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Matteo and Angela Gisonni Streppone. Mrs. Blancato was a resident of Holiday City South Adult Community of Toms River, NJ for over 25 years before moving to Trumbull a year ago to be with her daughter. She was a legal secretary in New York for many years and retired as a public relations assistant with American Cyanamid Co. of New Jersey. She was an avid cook and baker, enjoyed her exercise classes, weekly poker games with friends and dinners and dancing with Al. She also loved entertaining and hosting the holidays with her family. Survivors include her four children, Glorianne Hylan of Trumbull, Sandra Amodio of NY, Thomas Blancato of CA and Robert Blancato of NY, four grandchildren, Thomas Hylan, Sarah Beth Amodio, Amanda Amodio and David Blancato, her longtime companion Alex Valeri of NJ as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Blancato and four brothers, Pat, Thomas, Gerald and Mario Streppone. Funeral Information Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Friends and relatives may call on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. and through the time of service.
