Obituary of Margaret Ann Morris

Trumbull Resident Margaret Ann McCortney Morris, age 81, of Trumbull, died peacefully on Saturday August 21, 2010 in her home surrounded by her family. Born in Detroit, Michigan on April 29, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Willett Sr. and Ruth Johnson McCortney. Margaret was a volunteer counselor for many years for the American Field Services and was a devoted member of the Nichols United Methodist Church, Trumbull, where she also belonged to the United Methodist Womens Club. She loved gardening, needlework, traveling and cooking for her family. She took great pride in raising English Bull Terrier show dogs and was proud to have had two champions. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years C. Day Morris. Survivors include, four loving and supportive children, Meg Brockett and her husband Paul, James Morris and his wife Ann and Beth Tracey, all of North Carolina and W. Christopher Morris and his wife Jean of Cheshire, CT, nine cherished grandchildren, Becky, Jessie, Jay, Will, Joe, Matthew, Mark, Andrew and Corrie, two great grandchildren, Emily and Natalie, a brother, Bill McCortney Jr. and his wife Sharon of FL, a sister, Nancy Levin of MD as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Nichols United Methodist Church 35 Shelton Road Trumbull. Interment will follow in the Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 pm until 3 pm directly in the Nichols United Methodist Church. Arrangements entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
