Obituary of Charles Day Morris

Resident of Trumbull C. Day Morris, age 79, of Trumbull, died suddenly on Monday, October 15, 2007 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Ames, Iowa on October 27, 1927, he was a son of the late Mark and Beryl Campbell Morris and was a U. S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a retired Director of Compensation and Benefits for Echlin, Inc. of Branford with 15 years of service and had also been employed at American Standard for over 30 years. Mr. Morris enjoyed woodworking and was a talented craftsman. He also enjoyed traveling extensively in the U. S. and Europe. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Margaret McCortney Morris, four devoted children, Margaret Brockett and her husband Paul of Reidsville, NC, James Morris and his wife Ann of Durham, NC, Elizabeth Tracey of Greensboro, NC and W. Christopher Morris and his wife Jean of Cheshire, a sister, Shirley Schreiber of Charlotte, NC, nine cherished grandchildren, Becky, Jessie, Jay, Will, Joe, Matthew, Mark, Andrew and Corrie, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Prayer services will take place on Friday, October 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull.
