Obituary of Anne F. Montanaro

Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Anne Falco Montanaro, age 83, of Oxford, loving wife of Joseph J. Montanaro, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on April 23, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Anna Bonitatibus Falco. A graduate of Central High School, she was a retired employee of Sacred Heart University. Known as Gram, she enjoyed family gatherings and adored her time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very involved in raising funds for the Central High School Band. Anne was a proud member of the Park City Pride Drum and Bugle Corp. Mrs. Montanaro loved to read, dance and play cards, especially poker and never missed a Yankee game on television. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed. In addition to her loving husband of 64 years, Joseph, survivors include two devoted sons, Anthony (Butch) Montanaro and his wife Linda of Oxford and Thomas Montanaro and his wife Linda of Shelton, four cherished grandchildren, Brad Montanaro and his wife Linda, Heather Franse and her husband Scott and Andrea and Lauren Montanaro, three great grandchildren, Natalie, Claire and Grady, a sister, Josephine Schopp of Springfield MA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Lena Baldino. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
