Obituary of Cesare Franzese

Resident of Shelton Cesare Franzese, age 94, of Shelton, beloved husband of 67 years of the late Angela Osso Franzese, died on Friday, September 25, 2009 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in San Lucido, Province of Cosenza, Italy on June 1, 1915, he was a son of the late Nicola and Maria Gaudio Franzese. A member of the Italian Army during World War II, Mr. Franzese came to the United States in 1963, settling in Trumbull, but lived most of his life in Stratford. Cesare was a groundskeeper for the Hillandale and Oronoque Country Clubs. He enjoyed wine making and gardening. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed. Survivors include nine children, Maria Mirafiore of Stratford, Ida Franzese and Romilda Franzese and her husband Raffaele, all of Italy, Franco Franzese and his wife Rosa, Annina (Nina) Goessinger and her husband Jim, John Franzese and his wife Mary Beth, all of Shelton, Nella Cioppa and Luciano (Louie) Franzese and his wife Coleen, all of Seymour and Rosa Bousquet and her husband Craig of Stratford, 26 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Doctors Richard Sekerak and Edward Tristine for their care and compassion. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
