Obituary of Maureen L. Minnick

Resident of Monroe Maureen Leary Minnick, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, teacher and friend departed this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on July 1, 2012. Maureen was born in New Haven, on March 31, 1972. She resided in Monroe, with her husband Steven Minnick and her children, Henry and Sean. She was the daughter of Jack and Lisa Cook Leary of East Haven, and is also survived by her brother, Brian Leary and his wife Colleen of Milford, her sister, Kathleen Roberge and her husband Chris of Monroe, her brother Michael Leary of East Haven, her father and mother-in-law Howard and Anita Minnick of Montvale, NJ and her sisters-in-law Lydia Wallace and husband Mike of Trumbull, and Elaine Brophy and husband Eric of Wall, NJ and many beloved nieces and nephews. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden, CT, received a BA from Fairfield University, a MAT from Quinnipiac University, and her seventh year certificate from Teachers College Columbia University. She was an 18 year employee at Fairfield Woods Middle School in Fairfield, where she was most recently a Language Arts Specialist. She was an active and devoted member of the St. Judes Parish and St. Judes School in Monroe. Most importantly, Maureens boundless energy and enthusiasm for life has left a legacy of selfless love and joy to everyone she touched. She will be most remembered for her goodwill to others, even during her illness. Maureen lived life to the fullest and had a terrific sense of humor. Her genuine concern for the well-being of those who knew her was a trait that will never be forgotten. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
