Obituary of Katherine Vidmosko- Matzonkai

Katherine Vidmosko Matzonkai, age 87, passed peacefully on May 1, 2012 in Port Orange, Florida. Born in Jessup, PA, on May 8, 1924, she lived in Connecticut for 30 years before settling into her Florida home. Katherine was a devout Catholic, an active member of The Church of the Epiphany in Port Orange, where she volunteered with the Woman's Auxiliary League. She was last employed at United Capacitors, where she was instrumental in bringing the Teamsters Union into her predominately female factory in the 1960's. Katherine was independent, strong willed and lived by her set standards until her death. She is survived by her five children: Teresa Fisher and her husband Frank, Barbara Manley, Stephanie Vidmosko, Michael Vidmosko and his wife Gail, Stephen Vidmosko and his wife Diane, grandchildren: Michelle, Kenneth and Robin Van Bramer, Katie Resendiz and wife Elena Perez, Jennifer Manley and partner Ric Rosenberger, Jonathan, Christopher and Sarah Manley and Stephen and Zachary Vidmosko, great grandchildren: Joey and Tyler Broderick and Michael Stone. She was honored by a close relationship with her nephew Tommy Grunik and his wife Kathy. She was also blessed with an extended family with her late husband William Matzonkai, stepchildren, Nancy Staurovsky and Kathy Radomski and their children, Amy, Megan and Robin and Mark, Kelly and David, respectively. Her greatest pride was raising her five children whom she cherished. Family and friends will hold her dearly in their hearts. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
