Obituary of Rose Marie Benedetto

Rose Marie Serricchio Benedetto, age 98, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Sylvester Benedetto, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in West River Health Care Center, Milford. Born in Monte Sant'Angelo, Province of Foggia, Italy on February 22, 1913, she came to the United States at the age of 13 and was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Laura Milano Serricchio. Rose had a passion for music and sang opera in her younger years. A devoted aunt with great love and devotion to her family, she truly enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was a retired employee of Remington Rand and the former Nofade Shirt Co. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by three sisters, Rafaella Amato, Wanda DiTullio and Lucy Serricchio. Survivors include six devoted nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at West River Health Care Center for the great care and love for Rose. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
