Obituary of Patrick R. Lombardi

Retired owner of Lombardi Press Patrick Rudolph Lombardi, age 92, of Stratford, retired owner of Lombardi Press, died on Friday, August 19, 2011.He was the son of the late Angelo and Caroline Salina Lombardi. Born in Bridgeport, Patrick lived most of his life in Bridgeport before moving to Stratford several years ago. He was a graduate of Harding High School, attended the Empire School of Printing in New York and was an owner of the Lombardi Press with his brother Michael. He actively operated Lombardi Press until his retirement in 2001. He served in the U. S. Armed Forces during World War II and was stationed in the Valley Forge General Hospital and served as a Mess Sergeant. He was a parishioner of St. Mark Church in Stratford. Patrick was a very kind and very generous man and was always there for his siblings, nieces, and nephews whom he dearly loved. He enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and was an avid Yankee and New York Giants fan, and an avid reader of the Wall Street Journal. Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Nolting, a sister-in-law, Jane Lombardi, both of Stratford, ten devoted nieces and nephews, Robert Nolting and his wife Karen of Trumbull, Attorney Caroline Nolting Morrissey and her husband Terry of Stratford, Ronald Nolting and his wife Terry of Stratford, Michael Nolting and Richard Nolting and his wife Lynn, all of Wesley Chapel, FL, Caroline Piselli and her husband Mario of Branford, Victor Lombardi and his wife Andrea of Vero Beach, FL, Michael Lombardi and his wife Sally of Phoenix, AZ, Angela Lombardi Young and her husband John of Stratford and Patrick Lombardi of New Haven. He also leaves 27 grand nieces and grand nephews whom he dearly loved, Matthew, Christina and Jennifer Piselli, Andrew, Eric and Caroline Morrissey, Candace and Julie Ann Lombardi, Stephanie, Matthew and Nicholas Nolting, Christopher, Patrick, Brianna, and Jillian Lombardi, Cody, Brittany, Hailey and Ashley Young, Alyssa, Michael and Mitchell Nolting, Richard, Jack, Douglas, Scott, and Lani Nolting. Mr. Lombardi was pre-deceased by three sisters, Rose, Victoria and Angela and three brothers, Michael, Victor and infant brother, Patrick. Funeral Information Friends can meet directly at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Stratford, on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 for a Mass of Christian Burial with celebrant Rev. Donald Guglielmi, Pastor. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
