Obituary of Pauline C. Mallon

Pauline Cecelia Mallon, age 95, of Shelton, CT, beloved wife of the late Francis Richard Mallon, a World War II veteran of the 82nd Airborne, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024 at the Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton, CT, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 10, 1929 in the Bronx, NY, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Winifred O'Hare Cannon. A graduate of Saint Barnabas High School, Pauline exemplified hard work and resilience throughout her life leaving a lasting impact on those around her. A devoted wife and mother, Pauline was retired from a career of various jobs including more than 10 years as a Pharmacy Technician with Stop & Shop and an equal period of time as a Real Estate Broker. In retirement, Pauline enjoyed knitting blankets, sweaters, hats, scarves and mittens which are cherished by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her loved ones will remember her as someone who was devout in her Catholic faith and a tenacious defender of her beliefs and her large family. Pauline was a generous donor to the Glenmary Home Missioners and a dedicated congregant of St. Mark Parish, Stratford and St. Lawrence Parish, Shelton as well as a member of the Shelton Senior Center.

She is survived by her loving children, Michael Mallon (Deborah), Patrick Mallon (Lynn), Sally D'Souza (Anthony), Mary Hirschbeck, Anthony Mallon (Yoon Joon Choi), Timothy Mallon (Jennifer), and Sean Mallon, her adoring grandchildren Brittany Doughan (Ryan), Christopher (Michelle), Ryan Mallon (Lauren), Patrick Mallon (Elysha), James Mallon (Michaela), Brian Mallon, Steven Mallon (Natasha), Anthony D'Souza (Amy), Francesca Nugent (Connor), Katie Wardowski (Tom), Ryan D'Souza (Lyuba), Jaclyn Scott (Najee), Nikki Carino (Ryan), Monica Bartolomei (Matthew), Mark J. Hirschbeck (Lauren), SaeJin Mallon, Jack Mallon, Dylan Mallon, Noah Mallon, Liam Mallon, and Emmett Mallon, and her precious great-grandchildren Francis, Rory, Declan, Dima, Natalya, Haven, Sadie, Lincoln, Henry, Anthony, Daniel, Joseph, Molly, Seamus, Caroline, Maggie, Grace, Theodore, Meadow, Eli, Ryan, Peyton, and Connor. In addition to her parents and beloved husband Francis, she was predeceased by her cherished grandson Michael Christopher Mallon (Aneta Witoslaw and Alan) and her dear infant great-grandson Matthew Anthony Bartolomei as well as her five siblings John Cannon, James Cannon, Mary Reilly, Catherine McCarthy, and Vincent Cannon.

A Mass of Roman Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd., Trumbull, CT. Arrangements in care of Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.

The family would like to thank the Bishop Wicke Pavilion 4 staff for taking such good care of Pauline and making sure she was comfortable and content as well as Dr. Judy Castillo who treated Pauline for several years.

Pauline Mallon's legacy of love, strength, and tenacity will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
