Obituary of Elaine M. DellaRocco

Elaine M. “Lane” Barbiero DellaRocco, age 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on February 11, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Rosina Rotundo Barbiero.

Born in Bridgeport, Lane raised her family in Trumbull. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, trips to the casino and watching football. She loved to cook for her family and she was a fearful scrabble opponent of her closest family and friends.

But above all, her greatest roll in life was that of mother and Mimi. She was dedicated to the love and care of her family, always putting their needs before her own. She treasured when the family was together, especially her grandchildren, creating memories to last a lifetime. The unconditional love she gave and the values she taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her four loving children, Dawn DellaRocco and her husband Gaetano (Guy) DiGirolamo, Duke DellaRocco and his wife Sarah, Dana Salerno and her husband Anthony, and Christopher DellaRocco. She was the adored “Mimi” to seven cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Sara, Chayse, Ava, Lia, Michael and Ryan. She was predeceased by her partner, Gene Olbrys and six brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at a celebration of life on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Family remembrances will take place at 12:45 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association please go to www.alz.org/walk for “Lanie’s Ladies” Team.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
