Obituary of Joseph M. Ballester

Joseph M. Ballester, age 79, of Stratford, died peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2012 in St. Vincent Medical Center with his loving daughters and family by his side. Born in the Bronx, New York on July 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Michael and Rose Sendra Ballester. A U.S. Navy veteran, his very first job was with Treggers Construction, which became Henderson Trumbull Supply Company in 1975 where he eventually retired from with 50 plus years of dedicated service. He was an avid Yankees and Giants fan, enjoyed bowling and reading his New York Daily News everyday. Joseph was a very hard working and giving man always lending a hand to someone in need. But above all, he will always be remembered for being a devoted father and grandfather, who will truly be missed. Survivors include two loving and devoted daughters, Cheryl Ballester and her husband William Cleary of Monroe and Terri Bachlechner and her husband William of Trumbull, and their mother, Vera Smerglinolo Almeida, five cherished grandchildren, Michael Lawrence Jr., Kaila and Billy Cleary and Cameron and Corey Bachlechner. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. for graveside committal services. There will be no calling hours.
