Obituary of Alfio S. DiBartolo

Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather Alfio S. DiBartolo, age 74, of Jupiter, FL, beloved husband of Catherine DiBartolo, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on June 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Salvatore DiBartolo and Anna and Alfredo Natale, and was a longtime resident of Trumbull before moving to Florida. Early on, he served in the United States Navy and worked for over 30 years as a machinist at Avco Textron Lycoming. In addition to his devoted wife Catherine of 51 years, survivors include four daughters, Annamarie Haught and her husband David of Glastonbury, Irene McKenna and her husband Patrick of Milford, Kathleen Sowka and her husband John of Trumbull and Louisa Lombardi and her husband Jeffrey of Shelton and seven grandchildren, Alena, Calvin, Tristan, Reece, Lily, Jackson, and Patrick. Poppy, as he was affectionately called by family members, lived a wonderful American life. Having grown up in Bridgeport, he worked hard to raise four daughters and send them to college. He took great pride as they pursued their own careers and had families of their own. After retirement, he spent his last days in sunny Florida, walking the beach and watching boats go by at the Jupiter Marina. Due to his easy nature, loyalty, and kindness, he was truly adored by all family members. Poppy loved to bowl, watch classic movies, eat pasta and meatballs, hang out with his sons-in-law, and, most importantly, spend time with his seven grandchildren. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial.
