Obituary of Antoinette DeLucia

Antoinette Agliardi DeLucia, age 97, a resident of St. Josephs Manor of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Dominick DeLucia, died on Friday, September 2, 2011 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, New York on April 24, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Concetta Marzano Agliardi. She lived the majority of her life in New York City, and to her it was the best city in the world. An avid bingo player, she also loved to play cards and thoroughly enjoyed to gamble. She was an original Brooklyn Dodger fan and later enjoyed following the New York Mets. One of her many delights was cooking Italian food for her family. Survivors include her daughter, Frances Capella and her husband Ivan of Trumbull; three grandchildren, Karen Marchetti and her husband GianMarco of Easton; Lynn Holmquist and her husband Peter of Wilton; and Robert Capella and his wife Mia of Redding; nine great- grandchildren, Lorenzo, Giorgio and Victoria Marchetti; Stephen, Emma, William and Ellen Holmquist; and Sara and Jenna Capella; a sister-in-law, Carmela Agliardi, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by her son, Dominick DeLucia; four brothers, Joseph, Frank, John and Anthony Agliardi; and a sister, Filomena Saluzzi. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Castleton, Staten Island, NY. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
