Obituary of Joseph D'Eramo

Lifelong Bridgeport Resident Joseph Anthony DEramo, beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on August 27, 2011 at St. Vincents Medical Center with his loving daughter by his side. He was 77 years old. Joe was born on August 26, 1934 in the North End section of Bridgeport and was a lifelong Bridgeport resident. Joe is survived by his loving Wife Carol Capozzi D'Eramo of 53 years; his beloved daughter; Lynne DEramo-Ortiz and her husband Daniel Ortiz of Fairfield. One granddaughter, Taylor DEramo of Fairfield, one brother, P. Bennie DEramo, and his wife Lucille of Trumbull, and two sisters, Mary Sleeper of Trumbull and Donna Nigro and her husband Thomas of Ossinning, NY. He is further survived by several nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. His greatest joy in life was his granddaughter Taylor and cheering her on at her numerous sporting events but he most enjoyed watching her play basketball, he never missed a game and was her number one fan. He was a superintendent for E&F Construction Company for over 40 years and also served in the National Guard and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Although he was retired, he recently was consulting for Malkin Construction on renovations at Fairfield Woods Middle School. Joe had a passion for sports and was an avid fan of the NY Giants & NY Yankees. Joe was a loving, caring and giving man who will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 9 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport, CT. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m.
