Obituary of Mary Camille D'Amore

Mary Camille DAmore, age 85, of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest on February 20, 2013, in the comfort of her home. She took the journey to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, Pasquale of 65 years and her cherished son, Enrico (Rick), her parents and siblings. Born and educated in New York, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Leonarda Vecchio. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her daughter, Patricia DAmore of Monroe, son, Robert DAmore and his wife Pamela of Glastonbury, seven grandchildren, Lania Kelly and her husband David, Todd Toaso and his wife Nevena, Kevin Toaso and Katie, Dianna, Andrea, Alyssa DAmore. She also leaves to cherish her memory, a goddaughter, Roseann Sutay and her father, Emanuele DiPietro and many friends. Mary was a vibrant, strong and spiritual woman. She was a parishioner of Assumption Church in Fairfield and past member of St. Margarets Auxiliary Guild. She and her husband were avid travelers to Europe, Canada, Mexico and throughout the USA. They loved opera and were former members of the CT Grand Opera Guild. Her passion for life carried over to sports having watched her sons play numerous baseball games and even trying to positively console her husband, son and grandson that, Next year will be the Mets' year. Mary loved to cook, play games and garden. She always appreciated the beauty of flowers or ripe vegetables from their garden and took great pride when their house received the Mayors Beautification Award. Mary was always a very hard worker whether it was her job as a seamstress at Mohawk Curtains or as a cafeteria aide for Bridgeport Public Schools. She was pre-deceased by one sister, Angela and four brothers, Jim, Ray, Sam and Paul. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral Information Private family funeral services were conducted and entombment was in St. Michael Cemetery Mausoleum, Stratford.
