Obituary of Antonio Buffone

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Antonio Buffone, age 95, of Bridgeport, loving husband of Antonia Aprelino Buffone, died peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2012 in the Jewish Home for the Elderly. Born in Amantea, Italy on December 15, 1916, he was a son of the late Gregorio and Candida Villano Pulice. Mr. Buffone came to the United States in 1968 and settled in Bridgeport. Antonio was a retired employee for the City of Bridgeport Housing Department. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening and loved to sing and was also a member of the Circolo Sportivo Italian American Club. In addition to his beloved wife of 72 years, Antonia, survivors include three sons, Salvatore Buffone of New Haven, Frank Buffone and his wife Maria of Bridgeport and Nicholas Buffone and his wife Susan of Milford, three daughters, Anna Gagliardi and her husband Victor of Arizona, Saveria Gawryluki and her husband George of Canada and Rita Romano and her husband Michael of Trumbull. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews in the United States and Italy. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the K-3 staff at the Jewish Home for all their love and care, especially to Norma, Nancy and Leonor. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
